Your Veteran Ambassadors

  • Otilia Alas

    ARMY VETERAN

Otilia is a GGU student veteran who served in the Army for 14 years. She loved her time and experience in the Army and hopes to share and help those coming after her pursue their education goals. She likes to say that she already has a large family, but it has only gotten bigger with the addition of many friends from the military community. When she's not studying, you can find her cooking, working out, camping, spending time with her kids, and trying to figure out what to write about in the book she's promised herself to one day write.

Alas is a full-time student pursuing a Master's Degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology.

  • Grant Bowers

    COAST GUARD VETERAN

Grant is a GGU Undergraduate Student veteran currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Business (Finance Concentration) degree program. Having served nine years in the United States Coast Guard as a Boatswain Mate, he understands what it is like to make the transition from Active Duty service to Full-time Student.

He enjoys making meals for his family and considers cooking to be his lifelong hobby. Other hobbies include reading, mostly fiction books, exercising, and doing activities out in nature.

  • Hannah Crawford

    ARMY NATIONAL GUARD VETERAN

Hannah is a 10-year Army National Guard veteran who was on active duty for 3 of those years. After working as a recruiter, she discovered her passion for helping other service members reach their educational goals.

She recently purchased a house, so a lot of her free time is spent on home improvement projects. She also enjoys spending time with her dogs and family, working out, and playing music. She has played musical instruments since age ten and pursued a music minor in saxophone during her undergraduate studies. She holds a full-time position at a different university and is a full-time student in the Master's program for Human Resource Management at GGU.

  • Xavier Jackson

    ARMY VETERAN

Meet Xavier, a former Army 68R with three years of honorable service. Now based in Houston, Texas, Xavier holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. He’s currently pursuing an MBA in finance at GGU, but in his spare time, you’ll find Xavier traveling and taking in the sights!

Growing up as a military brat, Xavier developed a deep-rooted sense of duty and camaraderie, influenced by a family history of military service. With a strong commitment to supporting fellow veterans, Xavier is dedicated to fostering a sense of community and providing valuable support to those transitioning from military to civilian life.
