Mentorship Makes an Impact
You've heard it repeatedly, but yes, mentorship programs are essential for career progression. Everyone should have a mentor and consider being a mentor at some point – as both are beneficial. One way to get involved in an excellent corporate career mentoring program is to apply through the American Corporate Partnership or ACP. Founded in 2008, ACP took veteran mentorship programs to the next level by starting the only nonprofit organization offering national corporate career counseling for veterans and spouses.
For a deeper look into ACP and how you can leverage the power of a mentorship program, watch this video with the Diller Center's Jill New and Leslie Coffee from ACP.
ACP has programs for veterans and spouses, as well as a program specifically for women veterans. By hand-selecting each mentor, the program is truly customized to each military-connected participant. Over 25,000 veterans have completed the program, and 97% of them would recommend their ACP Mentorship to another veteran.
The mentors come from America's top companies, including
Mosaic Company
Honeywell
Major League Baseball
Verizon
MetLife
Nouryon
In addition to one-on-one mentorship programs, ACP has virtual events that touch on specific careers or skills that are helpful in your profession, such as public speaking. Of the 3,505 veterans who participated in a mentorship program with ACP in 2021, 2,328 obtained meaningful employment during their program at companies like Deloitte, Morgan Stanley and Amazon.
