Golden Gate University Earns 2024-2025 Military Friendly® School Designation

GGU’s Gold award indicates a score within 10% of the 10th-ranked organization.

Golden Gate University has earned the 2024-2025 Military Friendly® School designation. Institutions earning the Military Friendly® School designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. More than 1,800 schools participated in the 2024-2025 survey, with 537 earning special awards for going above the standard.

GGU was not only designated a Military Friendly School but was also awarded Gold status, which is given to schools that score within 10% of the 10th-ranked participating school. This ranking is a step up from GGU’s previous ‘23-24 status of Silver (within 20% of the 10th-ranked school).

GGU also earned its first Military Friendly® Spouse School designation, representing our commitment to serving the entire military family.

The 2024-2025 Military Friendly® Schools list will be published in the May and October issue of G.I. Jobs magazine and can be found at www.militaryfriendly.com. Methodology, criteria, and weightings were determined by Viqtory with input from the Military Friendly® Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community. Final ratings were determined by combining the institution’s survey scores with the assessment of the institution’s ability to meet thresholds for Student Retention, Graduation, Job Placement, Loan Repayment, Persistence (Degree Advancement or Transfer) and Loan Default rates for all students and, specifically, for student veterans.

“We are thrilled to receive this recognition,” said Jason Dempsey, Director of The Helen Diller Center for Veterans of U.S. Military Service at Golden Gate University. “This designation validates the hard work and dedication of our faculty, staff, and administration to support our military-connected students and their families. We are committed to continuing to provide the best possible experience for those who have served our country.”

Golden Gate University also earned the Military Friendly® Spouse School designation for the first time, representing the university’s commitment to the entire military family unit — including military and veteran spouses.

“Military Friendly® is committed to transparency and providing consistent data-driven standards in our designation process. Our standards provide a benchmark that promotes positive outcomes and support services that better the educational landscape and provide opportunity for the Military Community. This creates a competitive atmosphere that encourages Institutions to evolve and invest in their programs consistently. Schools who achieve awards designation show true commitment in their efforts, going over and above that standard.” - Kayla Lopez, National Director of Military Partnerships, Military Friendly®.
