Degree Potential Workshop: Boots to Books

  • Golden Gate University 536 Mission Street San Francisco, CA, 94105 United States (map)

Join us for a workshop discovering many of the transition and employment resources and opportunities for veterans! We’re excited to be joined by Boots to Books, a nonprofit committed to providing the most comprehensive, innovative assistance to veterans, transitioning military, and their families to attain competitive education and employment opportunities.

Special Guest: Peter Cline, Boots to Books

Peter is an Army Infantry Veteran and the fastest winner of all time of the Fort Benning Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year program. After being honorably discharged and struggling during his transition, despite having taken college courses while enlisted and having successes in the service, he realized something must be done. Inspired by receiving invaluable support from a friend, he decided to provide a resource to help the military community obtain competitive education and employment opportunities. They have since grown the program to help over 4,000 veterans and their families, to provide over $80,000 in educational resources, and to partner with the Army Reserve, Oracle, Adobe and more without ever charging a cent. Outside of his work with Boots to Books, Peter has led teams on a congressional campaign, worked in financial services, and now works in strategy consulting, helping companies, venture capital and private equity firms answer their toughest questions. He is devoted to assisting our military community and has been lucky enough to help several other nonprofits and veteran-owned companies get their start.
