How GradLeaders Helps Students with their Job Search
GGU offers students more than an education; many career services and resources are available. Sometimes a mountain of information can be overwhelming, but when you can identify what resources can help you and where to find them.
Among the resources available for those looking to change careers post-graduation is a platform called Grad Leaders. Internally, you may hear this referred to as The Bridge. As a GGU student, you can access this from your myGGU account.
Registration is easy with just three steps, which takes about 10-15 minutes. After you enter your contact information, you move to your profile, where you include your veteran status, if applicable. And the final step is to upload your CV or resume. Once your resume is approved, you can start searching for jobs.
When logged into GradLeaders, students have access to various tools and resources. You'll find quite a few things at your fingertips as you navigate the system.
Make Appointments
Additional input and advice can help make any process more straightforward. With the help of GGU Career Services, you can get help with all parts of the civilian employment process. While on GradLeaders, you can make multiple appointments with those advisors to get an extra set of eyes on your resume and cover letter or someone to conduct mock interviews with.
Career Services can also help with all aspects of the job search, including career exploration and military occupation specialty translation. Another fantastic service they offer is an understanding of veteran and military hiring initiatives.
Job Search Options
Searching for a job can feel tedious, but with the help of the job search in GradLeaders, you can spend less time and get a more effective search. The dashboard immediately shows you recommended jobs, new job listings and an opportunity to search for jobs based on your profile or resume.
You can set up search agents and rerun them at later times. You can also search by geographic region and "star" your favorites. New jobs are added frequently, and as you tailor your resume to additional options, you can reach more opportunities using the search-by-resume feature.
Document Resource Library
Another fantastic feature of the GradLeaders website is the extra resources. You'll find resources in the Document Resource Library to help with your job search and transition to the workspace. In addition to information on resumes and interviews, it also has resources regarding negotiating job offers and salary, federal resume writing tips and advice on avoiding fake job postings. If you're in law school, this section will also include specific information on a legal career.
Take advantage of GGU's Career Programs resources to take the next step in your civilian career.
